NovaFFA | Free For All Plugin 2.4.0
The ultimate Modern FFA PvP plugin | Editable Kits | Unlimited Kits/Arenas | PAPI | FAWE
Free for all arenas with editable kits, combat tagging, instant map regeneration, and full stat tracking
By @zArrowTan, part of the Arrow Plugin Series.
๐ Overview
NovaFFA runs free for all combat on your server. Players open a menu, pick a kit, and drop straight into that kit's arena to fight. Kills, deaths, streaks and rates are tracked for everyone, and the map rebuilds itself so an arena never stays broken.
There is no limit on kits or arenas. Build as many as your server needs, give each one its own layout and its own map, and let players choose between them.
NovaFFA was formerly ContinuumFFA. It is now under new ownership and actively maintained, rebuilt on the current Paper API and shipping in five languages.
๐งฉ Dependencies
- FastAsyncWorldEdit (required) this is what rebuilds your arenas after a fight. If it is missing or fails to start, NovaFFA tells you clearly in the console rather than half working. Get it here
- PlaceholderAPI (optional) exposes every stat and arena value as a placeholder for scoreboards, tab and holograms. Get it here
๐ Kits and the Layout Editor
Create as many kits as you like, each one linked to its own arena. Players join a kit directly with /ffa <kit> or pick from the fight menu.
Players can arrange their own inventory layout for a kit with /editkits, so everyone fights with their hotbar the way they want it. Layouts are saved per player, and staff can clear one if it needs resetting.
Custom items survive. Kits and layouts are stored in Paper's own item format, so custom items, data components and anything a plugin like ItemsAdder or Nexo put on a stack come back intact after a restart.
โ๏ธ Combat Tag
Getting hit holds a player in the fight, so nobody types their way out of a losing 1v1. Every fresh hit pushes the timer back out to full, landing a kill clears it, and dying clears it too.
- A countdown ticks away above the hotbar while the timer runs, so a player always knows where they stand
- Escape commands are held back. Put whatever your server uses into the config:
/spawn,/home,/tpaand the rest. Leaving, going to the lobby and switching kit are each on their own switch, and a tagged player cannot walk or fly into the lobby either - Logging out mid fight kills the player where they stood, and credits the kill to whoever they were fighting
- Only players inside an arena are ever tagged, so a fight elsewhere on your server is left alone
- Five seconds by default, set to whatever suits your server, or switch the whole thing off
๐ Arenas That Rebuild Themselves
Each arena regenerates through FastAsyncWorldEdit, so a map torn up by a fight goes back to how you built it. Regeneration can be driven manually or left on a timer that you start and stop.
Any arena can be marked premium, which locks it behind a per-arena permission. Give the node to a rank and only that rank can join.
๐ Statistics
Kills, deaths, kill to death rate, current streak and highest streak are tracked for every player. They check their own in a menu with /statistics, and staff can look up anyone.
Every value is available as a placeholder too, so you can put a player's streak on your scoreboard or a live player count above an arena.
๐ฅ Menus You Control
Menus live in their own directory, and every key has a plain comment above it explaining what it does.
- Kit buttons honour the whole item spec:
glow,flags,amount,custom_model_dataandenchantments. Add amaterialline to override the kit's own icon - Any item can play a
soundwhen clicked, withvolumeandpitch - A
filleritem fills the leftover squares on a part full page - A
no_kitsitem shows instead of an empty menu on a fresh install - Anything you add under
custom_itemssurvives every future update
โจ๏ธ Commands
Every command is a proper Brigadier command, so you get live suggestions for kit and arena names and the client greys out anything invalid before you press enter. Every alias below is yours to rename, add to, or remove entirely in the config.

%ffa_statistics_top_deaths_<1-10>% %ffa_statistics_top_deaths_name_<1-10>%
The top ten in kills and deaths are placeholders too, so a leaderboard needs nothing beyond NovaFFA and PlaceholderAPI.
๐ Five Languages Built Inen_US, fr_FR, es_ES, zh_CN and hi_IN all ship with the plugin and are kept up to date automatically. Pick one with language: in config.yml, or drop your own file into the lang/ folder and name it there.
๐จ Colour Support
Every message you can edit takes plain colour codes, hex, gradients and rainbows:
'&aGreen text, &land bold'
'ccffA custom blue'
'<GRADIENT:00ccff>fades across</GRADIENT:7fe5ff>'
'<RAINBOW1>rainbow text</RAINBOW>'
โ๏ธ Config That Keeps Your Work
Every file updates itself when you install a new build. New keys and their comments merge into your files while your own settings, your menus and your custom items stay exactly as you left them.
