What changed



◆ Players no longer blink while using a shield

  • Right-clicking a shield no longer makes the player disappear and reappear.
  • Raising, lowering, equipping and removing a shield now update without reloading the whole player.



◆ Shield updates are more reliable

  • Other players receive the correct shield position as soon as its state changes.
  • Rapid right-clicking is handled without unnecessary extra updates.



◆ Better compatibility and stability

  • ProtocolLib is not required.
  • Improved Paper, Folia and Canvas thread safety.
  • The plugin is built for Java 21 and Paper 1.21 or newer.
  • Saved statistics are now restored correctly after a server restart.

  • Removed hide/show entity re-tracking during shield fixes, which caused visible flicker for nearby players.
  • Removed forced chunk refreshes from the automatic fix path.
  • Shield state is now synchronized by sending only the hand-use metadata packet to current viewers.
