SURVIVAL WITH AN ACTUAL DEADLINE

A timer should be more than a number sitting in the action bar.

It should affect every decision your players make.

Do they spend another ten minutes mining? Hunt dangerous mobs for a bigger reward? Risk fighting another player? Send some of their own time to a friend who is about to run out?

With TimerCore, every player has a limited amount of time. It decreases naturally while they are online, and they must actively earn more if they want to stay in the game.

Once their timer reaches zero, your configured punishment takes over. They are not necessarily gone forever, though another player can craft a Revival Beacon and bring them back.

THE TIMER LOOP

  1. Join with a configurable amount of time
Every new player begins with the starting time you choose.
  2. Time decreases naturally
The timer runs while the player is online, creating constant pressure without interfering with normal survival gameplay.
  3. Earn more time by playing
Reward players for mining selected ores, killing configured mobs, or defeating other players.
  4. Share time with other players
Players can transfer part of their remaining time to friends using /time pay.
  5. Face the consequences
When time reaches zero, use TimerCore's built-in time ban or execute your own punishment commands.
  6. Fight for a second chance
A surviving player can craft a Revival Beacon, select a time-banned player from the GUI, and bring them back.

BALANCE THE SERVER YOUR WAY

There are no hardcoded reward tables forcing you into one style of gameplay.

Choose exactly which ores and mobs reward time, then decide how much each action is worth.

  • Configurable ore rewards Choose any supported material and its time value
  • Configurable mob rewards Reward common mobs, bosses, or anything in between
  • Player-kill rewards Set the PvP reward independently
  • Global multipliers Adjust every reward at once
  • Reward-type multipliers Balance ores, mobs, and PvP separately
  • World multipliers Make dangerous dimensions more rewarding
  • Permission multipliers Give ranks or special groups configurable bonuses
  • Disabled worlds Disable individual reward types wherever they do not belong
Example configuration
starting-time: 3600

time-rewards:
  ores:
    DIAMOND_ORE: 30
    ANCIENT_DEBRIS: 60

  mobs:
    ZOMBIE: 15
    WARDEN: 300
    ENDER_DRAGON: 600

  player-kill: 900

reward-modifiers:
  global: 1.0
  worlds:
    world_nether: 1.25
    world_the_end: 1.5
  permissions:
    vip:
      permission: timercore.multiplier.vip
      multiplier: 1.1

ANTI-ABUSE THAT DOESN'T PUNISH NORMAL PLAYERS

A time economy falls apart quickly if players can farm it without limits.

TimerCore includes protections designed specifically for this mechanic:

  • Placed-ore detection Players cannot repeatedly place and mine the same valuable ores
  • Repeat-kill protection Limit how often one player can reward another player
  • Reward cooldowns Control how quickly each reward type can trigger
  • Reward windows and limits Set a maximum number of rewarded actions during a period
  • Beacon cooldowns Prevent Revival Beacon spam
  • Per-world restrictions Disable farming methods in selected worlds

Every cooldown and time window is clearly configured in seconds.

A COMPLETE REVIVAL SYSTEM

Running out of time creates consequence but it also creates opportunities for teamwork, trading, and rivalry.

  • Craftable Revival Beacon with a configurable recipe
  • Clean inventory GUI showing revivable players
  • Configurable time restored after revival
  • Optional one-time consumption
  • Custom item name, lore, material, glint, and model data
  • Paper 1.21.4+ CustomModelData component support
  • Optional Nexo item support
  • Configurable particles, sounds, and revival broadcasts
  • Secure identification using persistent item data
  • Only players eliminated by TimerCore can be revived

Use TimerCore's native item system or connect the beacon to an existing Nexo item:

revival-beacon:
  # Leave blank to use TimerCore's native item
  nexo-item-id: "revival_beacon"

  custom-model- 7001
  consume-on-use: true

Nexo is completely optional. If it is missing or the configured item cannot be found, TimerCore safely uses the native Revival Beacon instead.

DISPLAY THE TIMER ANYWHERE

Choose how the remaining time is shown:

  • Action bar
  • Boss bar
  • Title
  • Hidden Continue the countdown without TimerCore displaying it

Warning and critical thresholds can change the timer's color and trigger configurable milestone titles and sounds.

With PlaceholderAPI installed, you can place the timer in scoreboards, tab lists, holograms, menus, or any other compatible plugin:

%timercore_time% - Formatted remaining time
%timercore_seconds% - Raw remaining seconds

PlaceholderAPI is optional. TimerCore works normally without it.

CONNECT IT TO THE REST OF YOUR SERVER

TimerCore includes configurable console-command hooks for important events:

  • First join
  • Time gained
  • Low-time milestone reached
  • Time depleted
  • Player revived
  • Revival failed
  • Revival Beacon crafted
  • Revival Beacon used

Use them to trigger broadcasts, quests, economy rewards, Discord notifications, punishments, achievements, or commands from other plugins.

You can also replace the default time ban with your own punishment and revival commands useful for jail systems, custom moderation plugins, or your own server workflow.
